Every year, Bahrain Tourism Company, owning company of Crowne Plaza Bahrain, supports organizations that help the community in return. This year they chose to donate to the Center Study for Research which does research on the environment, Heart Surgery Department of BDF Hospital which helps patients with heart ailment, Red Crescent, the institution which helps the poor and to the University of Bahrain.

Cheque donations were handed over to the said institutions by Mr. Ali Juma, Administration and Property Manager of Bahrain Tourism Company and Mr. Ebrahim Kooheji, Deputy General Manager of Crowne Plaza Bahrain.

Riffa Elderly Care & Home Dinner
 
Crowne Plaza Bahrain sponsored a dinner for the elders of the Riffa Elderly Care & Home Center held at the hotel’s Bahrain Conference Center. The dinner is part of the hotel’s continuous campaign on Corporate Responsibility. Officers and some staff of the Crowne Plaza Bahrain headed by Mr. Ivor Prestwood, general manager and Mr. Ebrahim Kooheji, deputy general manager, welcomed the elderly, served and assisted them throughout the event.

Helping the stranded passengers from Gulf Air
 
The massive disruption of air travel brought by the eruption of the Iceland volcano in April 2010 has once again proved Crowne Plaza Bahrain’s commitment to delivering Great Hotels Guests Love.

The Gulf Air layover passengers were booked at the hotel from Thursday evening, and knowing how this could be stressful and disappointing to be in such a situation, the Crowne Plaza Bahrain Team turned this into a refreshing experience for them.

Upon receiving the booking for the layover passengers, the team headed by Mr. Ivor Prestwood – General Manager and Ms. Kate Simmonds – Area Director of Sales & Marketing together with the head of the departments, organized a task force that quickly and efficiently implemented an action plan. A meeting room near the lobby of the hotel was turned into a lounge and televisions were placed in order for the layover passenger to be updated on the CNN & BBC news. The team also installed a computer with free internet access that they could use to check flights and news, and offered them complimentary refreshments through out this period. A gulf air representative was also stationed all day everyday at the hotel and a visit from the British Consul took place on 2 days. Assistance with money transfers and contacting loved ones was also given.

Living by our company values and core purpose, Crowne Plaza Bahrain was able to effectively deliver great services to our guests even in such difficult and challenging situation.
